New and news

Posted in Cut The Noize on August 20th, 2010 by alt

You know the Lollapalooza Festival in Chicago. Cut Copy played there on August 7 and presented one of their new tracks called “Where I’m Going“. Sounds nice to me!

Arcade Fire have bagged the first UK Number One of their career on August 8, with new album ‘The Suburbs’ going straight to the top of the Albums Chart.

The Canadian band saw off competition from Eminem’s ‘Recovery’ to claim the top slot.” (Source:  “NME“)

And Röyksopp also comes up with new track . “This Space” is a chilled instrumental for the great summer feeling. I was a bit disappointed after their last album but it seems they are breaking new ground!

Listen here or download “This Space” on their “Track of the month archive

Ellen Allien – Sun The Rain Video

Posted in Cut The Noize on August 19th, 2010 by alt

Ellen Allien‘s last album “DUST” already came out on May 15th and although i have a big respect for her productions i don’t really get warm with the most of them.

But since yesterday there is this new video from her album “Sun The Rain” on the BPitch Control Channel on Youtube and I was a bit surprised about the style, because i didn’t expect this kind of Country and Folk styled song.  A very nice track with a touch of hope and love in it. Did Ellen Allien felt in love?! :-)

The video is directed by Phil Schöll & Pfadfinderei who record a group of friends swimming and conoeing while the sun goes down. Beautiful!

Chromeo – Don’t Turn The Lights On

Posted in Cut The Noize on August 17th, 2010 by alt

No doubt about – With Aeroplane‘s remix for Chromeo Vito De Luca proves us again that he is one of the top producers for discotized beats full of soul.
By the way: He himself names his sound Psychedelic Opera Disco Pop. Also nice.

But while Aeroplane gives his touch of class to “Don’t Turn The Lights On” the Noise Invaders Dub also did it to me.  A great deep mix with a funky’ and groovin’ sub-baseline surrounded by cheesy delayed synths sounds. And the more you listen the more it’s getting better and better!

Exclusively on Beatport now.

Fagget Gairys Hail from Denmark, a female DJ/Production duo whose unique take on urban and electronic music comes from their work as artists, their experiences as fashion models and their inspired lives in India training as body coaches. DJ Hell first came across ‘Feed The Horse’ whilst preparing his musical mix for Michalsky 2010 spring summer show. It was a love at first sight, immediately making arrangements to remix and license the song to International DJ Gigolo Records.

Discovery of Norman Palm’s Easy

Posted in Cut The Noize on August 12th, 2010 by alt

Today in the morning i got an e-mail attached with this video. People in my surrounding know videos are a big theme in these days and so finding new music becomes a little on the short side. Why?, this i will you tell later. And it is much more better to get informed about artists and music you never heard before by that way.

So here comes my new discovery of Norman Palm‘s “Easy” and his video made by Frank Höhne.

But who is Norman Palm? I think it’s better to listen his words:

“Hello, my name is Norman Palm and here comes a bit of biography since everybody seems to be curious about connecting art to the artist. I am not yet 30 years old. Norman Palm is my real name. I live in Berlin and also in Mexico City sometimes. I studied and graduated at one artschool in Berlin and another one in Paris. I got a job as a designer, then started a new design studio and eventually published my first album called «Songs». ” Continue reading

Baffa – Walice in Onderland (Elevation)

Posted in Cut The Noize on August 11th, 2010 by alt

Elevation’s 50th release. Is it a milestone in this digital age? Probably not, but in the last 9 years they had a blast making releases with people all over the world and finding music from all corners of the globe. Maybe you enjoyed some parts of the journey at least. So without further ado here’s number 50.

Emidio Falconi a.k.a Baffa gives us ‘Walice in Onderland’. This is a delightfully dark ‘n moody affair that might give the dad housers crazy dreams if listened to too close before bed time.

Joining Baffa down the rabbit hole are Bubba (Classic Recordings), who drops a real low-slung monster that is very reminiscent of Trickski’s recent ‘The Warm Up’, but with a vibe all its own. Venezuela’s Miguel Colmenares drops a much more mellow version to sooth the senses slightly before Arno and Roquette from France take the blue pill and twist it into a more psychedelic house territory.

Enjoy!
