Flight Facilities – Crave You Ft. Gieselle

Posted in Cut The Noize on October 31st, 2010 by alt

You all should  know ‘Crave You’ from the Flight Facilities‘. It is a bit of time since its released in March 2010 and til now it has been doing his round. But in between they made a video with a small touch of hipster porn. The role of singer Giselle is played by Whitney Brown.

Aeroplane, the DJ duo turned to a one-man-show took Gieselle’s vocals to his well known remix of ‘Paris’ from Friendly Fires with a great effect. Flight Facilities themselves made o more dancable version the song, which works pretty nicely too.

Kasper Bjørke & His Friendly Ghost – Go Away Song

Posted in Cut The Noize on October 31st, 2010 by alt

Copenhagen based Kasper Bjørke has released his music on labels like Hfn Music, Plant Music, We Love This, Fine, etc. and has remixed everything from Trentemøller, WhoMadeWho, Visti & Meyland (Eskimo) to The Ting Tings and FM Belfast. Kasper has recently launched the touring party concept Superbacon as well as the new production outfit “Bjørke & Barfod”, releasing their first 12” on Tensnake’s label Mirau together with his old studio buddy Tomas Barfod (Get Physical/Gomma/Tartelet).

Kaspers own 2nd solo album “Standing On Top of Utopia” was released in February 2010 on Hfn and instant became a darling with the international press. Dazed & Confused, Nylon Magazine, Artrocker, Time Out NYC, Dj Mag as well as numerous blogs like Big Stereo and Dummy were full of praises. Especially the singles Young Again, Heaven and Alcatraz gained a lot of hype and chartings in clubland as well.

However, this new 12″ release “Go Away Song” on Compost Black, is only the 2nd release as “Kasper Bjørke and His Friendly Ghost” – Kaspers own solo alter ego for the more minimal techno/house releases and remixes. “Go Away Song” features Danish singer Josephine Philip and appears as quite a dark and emotional piece of housemusic – but with the weird loops and beautiful lead vocals by Josephine, as well as the percussive parts and bass synth elements, there is surely crowd controlling potential for the late night sets as well.
Wareika has done an effective remix with their trademark of quirky guitars and synths and Danish new talent Holtoug takes the track in a whole different direction with some highly musical inputs.

New Digitalism Single ‘Blitz/Stratosphere’

Posted in Cut The Noize on October 29th, 2010 by alt

Long time nothing heard from Hamburg duo Digitalism. All the more we were exicted about what they deliver. And here it is. “Blitz” is the long awaited single from the electronic astronauts, who have created a big bang theory of their own. It’s a synth supernova that explodes through the speakers, bringing with it a euphoric state of consciousness as we too look to the stars and while we may know there are far greater things happening within this moment, all you can do is dance.

Adana Twins – Heliumcowboy (Jeudi Records)

Posted in Cut The Noize on October 27th, 2010 by alt

Birthed in the middle of the infamous red light destrict »Reeperbahn«, Hamburg JEUDI Records starts spreading love with a passion for high quality house, deep house and tech house tunes to everyone who can feel it. The weekly thursday club night »JEUDI« is taking place at the BAALSAAL. It has already been given Hamburgs electronic scene a successful wake up call! JEUDI is legendary by now pushed by the big JEUDI family including DJ teams, producers and designers!
So four adventurous guys said : »Let’s do it again«  Jack is back!

The DJ team ADANA TWINS are not only residenting in their hood at BAALSAAL and Neidklub but also cheered up the partycrowd throughout Germany and Europe with their deep and adrenalizing sets. The duo consisting of Take It Easy, the energizer and Freezo, the straight and fluffy guy was brought together by the power of good turkish food and the love for grooving house music.

What was first? Label or Track? We don´t know. Fact is, »Heliumcowboy« by ADANA TWINS is the first release of JEUDI Records. As soon as they realized that what the duo is doing is so JEUDI soundish, the label was born, without being pregnant. »Heliumcowboy« is a driving, minimalistic house tune with a straight hand for the beat. Plus: there has never been a track about a cuban cowboy!
The London based duo Spieltrieb (Lickin Records, Southern fried) and Berlins Sacha Robotti (Klasse Recordings, Berlin Kreuzberg Institut) heard the track and got enthusiastic. Both did fantastic remixes and were adopted by the JEUDI family at once! So a real personal track is waiting for your ears. And you`ll see, the feet will follow!

Bon Iver – Lump Sum (A Take Away Show)

Posted in Cut The Noize on October 3rd, 2010 by alt

You know i posted these fantastic “Take Away Shows” made by “La Blogotheque” in the past. And I think it is time to show you their latest fantastic shot. First and foremost because it is one, and i’m not alone with it for sure, of my favourite bands of the last years.

This time they suggested Bon Iver from Wisconsin to play a private show, “a pocket party” to name it in their own words, in an apartment in Paris. And how life goes on the guys from Bon Iver always dreamed about such a thing.

Watch one of the few videos here:
