Daft Punk – Derezzed (Tron: Legacy)

Posted in Cut The Noize, Videos on December 26th, 2010 by alt

Daft Punk and Science Fiction: This fits perfectly togehter. The Disney studios has hired the two Frenchmen as film composer for the remake of the eighties science fiction movie Tron: Legacy. An obvious and promising decision. There are not many pop artists like Thomas Bangalter und Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo you can trust to compose music for a movie that is attracting a broad interest. Almost two months before the german movie release on january 27, the soundtrack of Tron: Legacy has come out. Watch the video of the single Derezzed

Lola Dupré Photomontages

Posted in Art on December 26th, 2010 by alt

Lola Dupré is a photomontage artist from Scotland. All her work shown on her site is made by hand, with paper and scissors. Some others of her work you see there include pen and paint at times. This one from Julian Assange is a very nice one im my point of view.

She can work from a photo you provide to her to produce a portrait and she collaborates with photographers. Her work is in the press and she is available for commercial illustration and editorial.
Check out her fantastic works which you can also buy. But hurry up before someone else is faster than you!

If you would like to buy, use, or commission new work, email lola@loladupre.com

La Riots – Control Your Tuba

Posted in Cut The Noize on December 8th, 2010 by alt

It is a little bit time, since the guys from Fool’s Gold brought out their first compilation on Oct. 25th. But this shouldn’t be a obstacle not to write about the last track on this release. Control Your Tuba is a great techno-rave smasher, despite it’s simplicity. It comes from, surprise surprise, Los Angeles based duo LA Riots.

Posted in Cut The Noize on December 2nd, 2010 by alt

A documentary film about Feist and her collaborators comes to select big screens, festivals, and museums this fall with the premiere of Look at What the Light Did Now.

A backstage pass into Feist’s creative process, LAWTLDN is the story of how “The Reminder” got made, of the oceans that were crossed, the places that were seen, and the people whose talents made it resonate. Shot in Super 8 and HDSR, and featuring loads of performances and candid interviews, LAWTLDN is a kaleidoscopic look at the intersection of art and music. Look at What The Light Did Now will premiere September 29th at POP Montreal and October 3rd at the Raindance Film Festival in London. It will screen in select cities. For upcoming screenings, check back here frequently.
