Seidensticker & Salour – Sue Is Blue EP

Posted in Cut The Noize on May 24th, 2011 by alt

Go Disco! A call to all who fall in love with the song “Sue is blue”. Everything is focused on the slow, but swinging groove, including individual flashing fragments of the 20′s. A dirty house music base drum pushes this track towards the dancefloor. The piece “Offshore” takes you on a journey with its epic, modest and balanced mood, which turns out to be a dancefloor sensation. “Teheran Traffic” is speeding up the tempo. The B-side is determined by a powerful sound. Just as the „Far from here edit“ by Philipp Wolgast works well in the club. He released on E-minor, and The Hut Records, whereas his remix has a strong piano theme, added vocals and a remarkable composition. It is more a unique piece, than a remix! The two artists Jakob Seidensticker and Bardia Salour are constantly working: On the Irish label „Elevation“ on which Jakob has released with his band “Wareika” too, and another release on Einmaleins Musik, they improve their output. What emerges on this FormResonance is a wit and charm, which the two hamburger boys should be noted as the same. Together they host the party “dance for fans”, which is anchored firmly in the nightlife of Hamburg City.

Digitalism – 2 Hearts

Posted in Cut The Noize on May 16th, 2011 by alt

In 2007, when Digitalism’s debut album ‘Idealism‘ was released, the duo  delighted countless fans worldwide. With hits like ‘Zdarlight‘ and ‘Pogo‘ they left their mark not only on the dance floors across the globe but also formed the soundtrack for different TV campaigns of major car manufacturers. And as an avowed fan of the band, ‘Strokes‘ frontman Julian Casablancas contributed his lyrics as co-writer with Jens Mölle and Ismail Tüfekci to the track “Forrest Gump”.

Usual stylish they are presenting a veritable dance pop hit, which will certainly occupy a leading position in the “soundtrack of the summer and it is not surprising that ‘2 Hearts‘ was chosen as this year’s anthem of MELT! Festival.

New Record: The Unspeakable Chilly Gonzales

Posted in Cut The Noize on May 5th, 2011 by alt

After his Guinness World Record, the album and the Locarno film festival prize-winning feature film ‘Ivory Tower’, the single ‘Never Stop‘ chosen by Apple for their iPad ad and the inter-planetary video hit ‘You Can Dance’ with its near 1 million You Tube views, the musical genius brings us a Limited Edition of symphonic spoken word:

‘The Unspeakable Chilly Gonzales’ the first-ever all-orchestral rap album and live show … the dramatic next step after piano-rap classics “The Grudge” and “Crying” from ‘Ivory Tower’.

Chilly Gonzales warned us of rap with “no beats” in 2000 (The Entertainist). Since then, he created the all-piano rap mixtape “Pianist Envy” (250 000 downloads) and “Solo Piano” fan Drake hand-picked Gonzo to accompany him on stage. Today, he brings some “Gonzpiration” to the rap game. Accompanied by Hollywood swells, tympani rolls, noble French horns, hypnotizing bells and influenced by Prokofiev, Morricone and Phillip Glass among others, this record is Chilly Gonzales’ ‘professional confessional’, revealing more of himself on these monologues than ever before.

Accompanied live by a chamber orchestra, Chilly Gonzales will explore the idea of what a modern maestro is. The arrangements by his Hollywood film-composing brother Christophe Beck, take center stage alongside Gonzo’s eccentric personality.

Fans can download “The Unspeakable Chilly Gonzales Suite,” a four-minute mix of the entire album, for free right now at CHILLYGONZALES.COM.
