Mercury! – Sweetness w/ Catz N’Dogz Remix

Posted in Cut The Noize on September 30th, 2011 by alt

Mercury! Sweetness – the new E.P.. We don’t need to introduce Mercury to you anymore. From A-Trak to Shit Robot and Brodniski – everybody was playing their first single and their remixes for Made to Play, Kitsuné and Tom Trago recently. As Busy P described them: “I’m sure Kerri Chandler and Louie Vega will love it as much as I do! It’s time to re-open Sound Factory.. “.
This new EP is even better. Check the energy of You Lift Me Up. And also the Catz n’Dogz remix. Heavy House Bizness.

Dawson – Holly / Sohno

Posted in Cut The Noize on September 26th, 2011 by alt

Indeed it’s a pleasure what is on offering here on Sensual Pleasure Rec. (sry for the pun) from one of the key djs of Eastern Saxony Dawson whose residency is the openair area of the Airport Summer Lounge which is widely known for its freaked-out events and excellent guest line up of minimal / tech house djs. We have been very impressed and instantly started to swing when this chunky, gypsy-styled tech house four tracker arrived at our office soundsystem and we are more than happy to share it with you guys as basically Sensual Pleasure Rec. is a vinyl-only label. Remix support comes from the SPR heroes Raumakustik themself and from one half of the label founders Tholli in coop with his production partner Crio. After already having received plenty of support from vinyl djs and several repressings, the release made it up to the top of the sales chart of several retailers and now it s the chance for you digital jocks to jump on it.

Example – Changed The Way You Kiss Me w/ Kris Menace Remix

Posted in Cut The Noize on September 16th, 2011 by alt

29 year old, London born Elliot Gleave aka EXAMPLE is the man of the moment and the next big thing in UK right now. Whatever the singer / rapper touches is turning into gold. It doesn’t take much to predict that 2011 is going to become the year of EXAMPLE. The lead single “Changed The Way You Kiss Me” out of his brandnew album “Playing In The Shadows”, which is signed to Vertigo in Germany and to Ministry Of Sound in UK, catapulted EXAMPLE straight to the top of the UK single chart. By now the single which was produced by Miniystry Of Sound Club resident Michael Woods sold over 400.000 copies! Already 2010 was a massively successful year for EXAMPLE with two UK Top10 single hits (“Won’t Go Quietly”, “Kickstarts”) and an album that went Gold. What followed has been millions of you tube clicks, a packed festival schedule, a BBC Radio 1 student tour, a sold-out UK-tour with further 14 dates across the island plus countless collaborations among them a feature on Professor Greens hit single “Monster”. Needless to say that all his releases receive lots of attention from all the BBC Radio 1 djs among them DJ Zane Lowe who featured “Changed The Way You Kiss Me” as Hottest Record in the World. Finally time has come for his longplayer “Playing In The Shadows” to be released this month. Beyond question, this man is on a roll! And right now you will hardly find anyone else who is able to melt the energy of Dance and Hip Hop this way into chart potential future pop songs.
As huge as the Original Version is the line up of remixers for “Change The Way You Kiss Me” including an elite crew consisting of Kris Menace (Vulture Rec.), KISS FM DJ Steve Smart and his remix/production partner Westfunk, Tom Starr (Moda Music), Friction and Mensah.

New album – Ben Westbeech – There’s More To Life Than This

Posted in Cut The Noize, Videos on September 15th, 2011 by alt

Singer, songwriter, DJ and producer Ben Westbeech presents his new album “There’s More To Life Than This” – a soulful, inspired by house music gem.

There’s More To Life Than This” Ben’s is more than overdue second album. After his first exclamation mark in 2006 – “So Good Today” – he was taken by Gilles Peterson’s Brownswood Recordings’ upcoming contract. His 2007er debut album “Welcome To The Best Years Of Your Life” was enthusiastically received. Along with this success, the expectations were rising in him and also the fears, the level at his subsequent publications are not to keep. It followed months full of weariness, disorientation and uninspired – lost in musical limbo.

“For a while after ‘Welcome To’, I did not feel inspired,” he explains. “I got a bit lost, a bit disillusioned. I was getting lots of work as a DJ, enjoying life, but I did not have any hunger. Towards the end of it all, I asked myself, what do I have to show for the past few months? It just was not a productive time for me. I had fun, but I just was not making enough good music. ”
