The KDMS is a underground – supergroup. England’s No.1 Indie – Disco Diva Kathy Diamond (Permanent Vacation, Eskimo, Moodmusic) and Maximilian Skiba from London’s REKIDS label (solo album coming up soon) teamed up to do a real band.
The result are some very crisp, catchy but raw house tunes with a great pop appeal. Kathy’s unique voice that combines soul-funk background with a very own timbre meets Max’s way of contemporary electronic production.
He does it like Prince: Playing all the guitars, drums, bass and keyboards himself. And then reworking it on the computer.
Here is their third single on Gomma. Check the amazing Morgan Geist Remix (..and see them live perfoming with a real 5 person power band. And expect an nice album early 2012.)

Due to the recent debate on misogyny in dance music, Tech experimental outfit Renaissance Man have been discussing changing their name to Renaissance Person.
Ville Haimala from Renaissance Man said in a recent interview: “We are in the process of changing our name to Renaissance Person, which is not to say polymathic tendencies would be a capacity exclusive to homo sapiens.”
Turbo label owner Tiga agreed: “Your name is shockingly arrogant, not to mention borderline sexist.”
Are they being serious? Or are they trying to draw some attention to their recent album release ‘Renaissance Man – The Renaissance ManProject‘?
Virtual 3d sets of blocks and morphing geometries representing glitches, harmonic and rhythmic structure of the music spread themselves through the streets and the buildings until they take over the entire cityscape.
The film has been realized with an experimental, “faked” stop motion technique derived from standard footage elaboration, using multiple paces in order to maintain the synchronization with the soundtrack.
Almost every frame of the video becomes a digital sculpture blended into the urban landscape. Stills gallery

Rainer Trueby’s brand new 3rd solo single! After releasing his smashing solo debut on Compost Black Label (Livin In The Music / Es Lo Que Pasa / Hirtenruf) and doing “Schoko Bolla”, an all-night jam session (and an amazing free download and gift for all fans out there) he is back again teaming up with Danilo Plessow (Motor City Drum Ensemble). Funny, both Motor City Drum Ensemble and Rainer Trueby (as Trueby Trio – together with Roland Appel and Christian Prommer) have compiled a DJ Kicks.
With its perfectly chosen post garage appeal „Jeck“sets you in the mood for doing nearly everything and honours the slower, more subtly grooves in a very significant way. Reminds a bit to the early Nineties Nu-Groove Sound from NYC. Especially when the bombastic kick combines with the more jazzy, laid back keys. And when you realize that Trueby speaks (and sings) all of his vocals himself, you know that there’s the whole package! The record contains a further track “Welcome To Our World”, which is as moody as hell! Sit back and relax! Last but not least the 12inch includes a kick-ass Marcus Worgull’s remix. Marcus Worgull is one of the top addresses for deep house releases on labels like Sonar Kollektiv, Dixon and Amé´s Innervisions and remixes like Farside Records, Running Back, Lovemonk or DFA.

French artist Koyote returns to Mixpack with a handpicked selection of remixes of ‘Midsummer Tales’, the EP he dropped earlier this year. With Altered Natives, Ceephax Acid Crew and Marble Players (aka Surkin, Bobmo and Para One) all lending their dancefloor touch, alongside a VIP from Koyote himself, there a re-shifting for house and bass DJs alike.
You can download the Marble Players take on ‘Night Train’, which combines a garage swing with old school squeaks and bleeps, below as well as listen to all the remixes. As an added bonus we’ve included a taster of Surkin’s debut album ‘USA’ which is due out in just a few weeks and sounds massive.

Following the release of his acclaimed Flauto EP, Leg-No unleashes a package of supreme remixes on Be Bonkerz. Antonio Olivieri, Fex Felini, Johan Dresser, Robby Howler and The Deepshakerz give “Flauto Attraverso” and “A Colori” their individual spin and deliver five unique projections of House. Antonio Olivieri from Berlin lets filtered piano chords and synth stabs ride side to side with the magical flute of Flauto Attraverso, forming a warm and dense driving groove. Fex Felini slows down A Colori to 115 bpm with his seductive Deep House edit. Dubby chords and delayed vocals for deep dancefloor submersion by the head of German label Globelle. Johan Dresser from Medellin let’s Flauto bounce like a superball with stabby offbeat-chords, uplifting hi-hats and throbbing percussion. Russian up-and-coming player Roby Howler thins out the original to create a reduced and techy space, through which glitzy bits of sound and vox can flutter. Apulian duo Deepshakerz then draft the the very antithesis with their pumping and straightforward remix for the uptempo floor.

Hamburg based electronic superband Stella and former act on legendary label Ladomat has made a big return into the scene of advanced electronic with their critically acclaimed 4th longplayer called ‘Fukui’. After Ladomat has closed, Stella has found a new home at Clouds Hill Rec.
The three band mates of Stella consisting of Elena Lange, Mense Reents and Thies Mynther are well-known names to experts in the field. Reents, for one, has raised many an eyebrow as part of the duo Egoexpress (and he´s currently a member of the Goldenen Zitronen). Mynther, on the other hand, played with Allwissenden Billardkugel and dozens of other bands. Today he tickles the ivories in bands like Phanton/Ghost and Superpunk. With their Stella project they continue to strive at the most professional level possible for imperfection, to fight against the ideology and trend of shaping people to be a certain way, and to oppose any sullen observations. “Nobody Can Do Me No Harm” is one of their few English-language lines. The music, as one might expect from Stella, is compelling and intoxicating. We would say it’s Pop at its best. Liberating pop that shakes things up, that is tryly an alternative to the boredom of everyday life. With ‘Office & Store’ featuring the capturing vocal performance of Elena and the electronic boogie jam ‘Thunderbird’ – two of the most outstanding tracks have been taken of the 4th Stella album ‘Fukui’ to make them part of the much talked about collectors vinyl box ‘Analog Love In Digital Times’ including a superb deep-house remix by Dial Rec. finest Efdemin. Simply a wonderful release which goes down very well for advanced dj sets and listening alike.

Kwes was born and raised in Lewisham, South East London. He began playing his grandparents’ organ at the age of four and his grandmother bought him his first small keyboard aged 5. For his 10th birthday, he received a radio/tape recorder with a built-in microphone, which launched his interest in sound recording.
As a producer he has worked with Big Dada signed Dels on his 2011 debut album ‘Gob‘ and The xx earlier on in their career producing an early version of their song “Insects”.He has also co-produced a mixtape entitled Kwesachu Vol.1, with Micachu (as “Kwesachu”), alongside MCs Dels & Ghostpoet, with appearances from London pop-bands, including Golden Silvers and The Invisible. Matthew Herbert touted him as a musician and producer to watch, admiring his “really unusual, experimental approach”.
Kwes is also a solo artist. XL Recordings imprint Salvia released limited edition single “Hearts in Home/Tissues” in January 2009. Kwes released his debut EP “No Need To Run” on Young Turks/XL on June 28, 2010.

The original „Night Flight“ is one of Alex Barck’s (Jazzanova / A&R @ Derwin Rec.) latest discoveries. Alex found this little masterpiece by Quintus Project in a second hand shop and we simply had to re-release this beautiful shimmering piece of balearic soft-tune. The original „Night Flight“ was released in 1987 on the Quintus Project album „Moments“ (limited to 300 album copies!). Mastermind of the project was the German musician, composer, producer, arranger, engineer Walter Quintus, a musical multi- talent. Born in 1949, he collaborated until now with a diverse assortment of great musicans from around the world like Richie Beirach, John Bergamo, Phil Brown, Eric Clapton, Michel Godard, Gary Moore, trumpet player Markus Stockhausen (son of Karlheinz Stockhausen) and many others….
After studying violine from 1955 – 1969 he co-founded in 1968 the psych-kraut rock band „Parzival“. After two LPs and a single on Teldec, Walter Quintus focused more on producing and sound engineering. During the Seventies, he produced and recorded for German artists like Kraan, Grobschnitt, Kraftwerk and Udo Lindenberg. Together with the jazz pianist Joachim Kühn, who is playing the piano on „Night Flight“, in 1984 Walter Quintus invented the legendary „Digital Soundboard“, an analogue mixer equipped with many electronic digital effects, which enables to transform and to anhence played music direkt and in time.
The first remix delivers the UK based duo Psychemagik. They put their longtime experience of disco editing in this special remix, and delivered a superb cosmic journey. The acclaimed releases last year for Nathan Gregory Wilkins „The History Clock“ label and their legendary Fleetwood Mac „Everywhere“ Summer Of Love Remix, attracted much much attention to the psychemagik duo. Their forthcoming album on Ambassadors Reception Records will be available in late summer 2011.
The second remix comes right from the well-known Swiss DJ and producer Lexx. Lexx is a major force in Zurich’s nightlife and enjoys a great reputation for his outstanding DJ-sets in clubs like „Zukunft“. As a producer, he released various music like his early days stuff as one of the most ground-breaking Swiss Hip Hop acts, to the presence with his more cosmic music on Bear Funk, and the more techy orientated stuff under the moniker Kawabata on Drumpoet Community.
