Flashmob – Ninety Five (Get Physical)

Posted in Cut The Noize on April 16th, 2012 by alt

The boys of Flashmob return after their inspiring ‘Brick House‘ release last fall. Now, after making the rounds and gaining the support of some of the worlds top DJs, ‘Ninety Five’ is finally making it to market.

This track is defined by the 1995 house sound we all know and love, bringing together hi-hats, heavy kicks and pumping bass. This is the sound a lot of us grew up on, and its a nice homage to the sound that made a genre what it is today. Early support from Luciano, Loco Dice, Jamie Jones, Maceo Plex, Timo Maas, Homework, Green Velvet, Adam Beyer, DJ Sneak, Soul Clap, Davide Squillace, Silicon Soul, DJ T., Lee Curtiss, Tiefschwarz and more. Go for this wicked underground house anthem!

Christian Strobe – Love Without Love (Globelle)

Posted in Cut The Noize on April 11th, 2012 by alt

Christian Strobe - Love Without Love (Cover Artwork)

After his blog-mega-hyped remixes of M83 & Arcade Fire (certainly unofficial) a major label (EMI) knocked on Christian Strobes door and asked for a remix for *drum roll* Katy Perrys new #1 single. What the heck? Anyway, now it’s time for his own music stuff, here comes his new EP on the fantastic label Globelle:

“Love Without Love”: Relaxed beach club party or sweaty dancefloor ? Kissing in the moonlight or worshipping the flashlights? All bets are off! Hands-up trancy synth stabs, catchy vocals, a lot of “Ahhs”&”Ohhs” and asskickin’ drums. That’s it. You need it more traditional? Take the classic version with many oldschool piano house chords, filtersweeping retro-synths and digital 80ies touch. DX7 rules.

Still awake? “Nighthawk” is driving you through a hot suspense-packed night; you feel the deep kick, no chance to take a breath. Final destination: Nightclub.

“Helen” is your secret dancefloor affair. She’s loud, fast and likes to disco. But she never forgets to be lovely. Treat her well!

Lo-Fi-Fnk - "Kissing Taste"

Wow, last time i heard something from this young duo from Sweden is more than six years ago. You will remember their big love song they wrote, more or less, in the age of seventeen. Lo-Fi-Fnk’s Wake Up was big and it is still big. A good tune, you name it, to wake up.

So long time nothing heard, but what comes now sounds more mature, lovely and fresh again! Kissing Taste came out on feb. 27th.

Joe Goddard – Gabriel (Soulwax, The Aston Shuffle, Jan Driver, Calibre Remixes)

Posted in Cut The Noize on March 13th, 2012 by alt

Joe Goddard - Gabriel feat. Valentina (Cover Artwork)

Finally the long awaited remix package of Joe Goddards ‘Gabriel’ feat. Valentina which is one of the stand out tracks in 2011 has landed at the cutTheNoize office to share it with you peeps. It includes of course the much talked about Soulwax Remix which actually was a late xmas present from the Deweale bros to Joe and which got already championed by Erol Alkan in his January top10. Further we have a funktastic version from The Aston Shuffle complete with calypso feeling and a mad acid bubbling rework from Berlin based Jan Driver (Boys Noize Rec.). This massive package is closed by another brilliant Drum n Bass interpretation from Calibre being already hammered by big players such as DJ Friction and the BBC1 crew.

Greco-Roman and Bitclap! join hands to bring you the first solo material by Joe Goddard in over 18 months and give it an official full release very soon. ‘Gabriel’ has already turned into a true underground anthem that has been hammered over the last months from hippsters across genres such as King Britt, AME, Tensnake, Soul Clap, Simian Mobile Disco, Brodinsky, Crookers, Erol Alkan just to name a few.

Joe Goddard is surely one of the busiest men in the world of electronic music: writer and producer behind the world-conquering Hot Chip, acclaimed solo artist, travelsome DJ, prolific remixer, one half of the emerging 2 Bears house duo and one of the founding members of the Greco-Roman record label and party collective. So where does he find the time to make an EP of electronica so sweet? In bed, that’s where.

Fitting, then, that Goddard’s first solo material in 18 months should open with a chorus of angels, before title track ‘Gabriel’ strides confidently into familiar territory of London’s clubland and its rich musical influences; this time Goddard choosing Gospel and House as his parameters. The ‘Gabriel’ EP is the first taster of a solo album to be expected for end of this year.

NIAS tell the story of Berlin, their continuously changing hometown: Of its folks and faces, its deteriorated streets as well as the comprehension of lonesomeness and collective euphoria. Like the metropolis they are from, NIAS are impulsive and unpredictable. Rough voices, synthetic baselines and stirring beats are mixed with beautiful harmony and pure elegance result in great Pop music which won’t get out of your head – and feet – so easily. Without hesitation, one can compare NIAS with internationally recognized bands such as Metronomy, Chromeo, Nôze and Bloc Party. Founded by Singer/Singwriter/Guitarist Nikolas Tillmann (Tille) and Drummer/Producer Milian Vogel, and completed through the membership of all-round-talent Georg Wende 2010, the band is about to release their first, self-titled Album by end of march followed by an extended tour through GSA.
‘She Would’ is the second single to be taken from their album, which is getting already props by Rob Kirwan (Producer and Sound Engineer of U2,BabyshamblesDepeche Mode) who stated „I think this band has a lot of potential… I like their energy and the diversity of their sound.” To make the single work for electronic and disco club floors it was twisted and reworked by internationally well known players of the electro circuit. Among them are Television Rocks label owner Maral Salmassi and coming from the heart of Hamburg the Audiolith Rec. members Saint Pauli and Mendoza.

Oliver Koletzki feat. Jan Blomqvist – The Devil In Me (Remixed by Format:B / Nicone & Sascha Braemer)

Posted in Cut The Noize on March 1st, 2012 by alt

Oliver Koletzki feat. Jan Blomqvist - The Devil In Me (Cover Artwork)

It sounds like a fairy tale. In 2005 29-year old OLIVER KOLETZKI pressed 500 copies of his underground hit “Der Mückenschwarm”. One of those white labels landed in Sven Väth’s record bag and whenever played out the track, people went nuts. Shortly after techno-king Väth signed the track on his techno empire Cocoon. “Der Mückenschwarm”, already considered as a techno classic – became the best sold techno record of 2005, the best ever selling record on Cocoon and OLIVER KOLETZKI got voted best newcomer of the year in prestigious Groove magazine.

Now, over 40 releases later Oliver being Label manager, producer, DJ, bandleader still manages to fill the clubs around the world and make people smile to his energetic DJ sets. Be in the best clubs of Europe such as London’s Fabric, Berlin’s Berghain or around the rest of the world: Oliver knows how to perform and connect with his audience.

In 2009 Oliver continued this success story with releasing his album “Großstadtmärchen” – an electro-pop album featuring national and international big names such as Mieze Katz (MIA), Axel Bosse or Die Raketen as well as many newcomers such as singers Juli Holz, Pyur and Fran. With “Großstadtmärchen” Oliver has managed to achieve what only few techno producers did before: to create a pop album with club credibility. The singles “Hypnotized” and “U-Bahn” even recieved German wide airplay and became massive club hits. With “The Devil In Me” Oliver presents first teaser single of his much anticipated second longplayer “Großstadtmärchen 2″ which is due for release on march 9th. Again Mr Koletzki proofs he`s not only one of the most populare djs and best techno producers but also knows what it needs to create a catchy pop song. As one would certainly expect the single has also been reshaped for extensive club plays by none other than Berlin’s techno heroes Format:B and Bar25 Rec. dream-team Niconé & Sascha Braemer.

Adana Twins – Everyday (Exploited)

Posted in Cut The Noize on February 27th, 2012 by alt

Currently in the Top10 of Beatport with ‘Claptone’s – Cream‘, here is the next strong release on Exploited in 2012.
Exploited presents the Hamburg duo ADANA TWINS – consisting of Take it Easy, the energizer and Freezo, the straight and fluffy guy – who were brought together by the power of good turkish food and the love for grooving house music.
Last year Adana Twins (together with Doctor Dru) were responsible for the most successful tune on Exploited: “JUICY FRUIT” – a slo-mo housed-up boogie-soul joint that found appreciation from a variety of DJs including the likes of Axel Boman, Round Table Knights, Solomun, A-Trak and many more.

Now the boys return with yet another hit: “EVERYDAY” is an updated version of a New Jack Swing Classic that has been getting a lot of support by Solomun of late. Reworked and refreshed its now ready to wreck! And lets not forget, the bonus track “STRANGE”: a secret weapon for the early morning hours.

Miike Snow – Paddling Out (Jacques Lu Cont Remix)

Posted in Cut The Noize on February 12th, 2012 by alt

Miike Snow ‘Paddling Out’ (Jacques Lu Cont Remix) By Mr HBF

Jacques is well and truly back. The super producer has been silent for 8 years under his Jacques Lu Cont guise, but he’s really making a comeback at the moment – we’ve had ‘Reload,’ ‘Church’ and now for what he does best: remixes.

He’s taken his well-trained electronic wand to the new Miike Snow track ‘Paddling Out’. Turning a relatively tame track into something that could easily slay and dance floor. source: harderbloggerfaster.com
