Kasper Bjørke & His Friendly Ghost – Go Away Song

Posted in Cut The Noize on October 31st, 2010 by alt

Copenhagen based Kasper Bjørke has released his music on labels like Hfn Music, Plant Music, We Love This, Fine, etc. and has remixed everything from Trentemøller, WhoMadeWho, Visti & Meyland (Eskimo) to The Ting Tings and FM Belfast. Kasper has recently launched the touring party concept Superbacon as well as the new production outfit “Bjørke & Barfod”, releasing their first 12” on Tensnake’s label Mirau together with his old studio buddy Tomas Barfod (Get Physical/Gomma/Tartelet).

Kaspers own 2nd solo album “Standing On Top of Utopia” was released in February 2010 on Hfn and instant became a darling with the international press. Dazed & Confused, Nylon Magazine, Artrocker, Time Out NYC, Dj Mag as well as numerous blogs like Big Stereo and Dummy were full of praises. Especially the singles Young Again, Heaven and Alcatraz gained a lot of hype and chartings in clubland as well.

However, this new 12″ release “Go Away Song” on Compost Black, is only the 2nd release as “Kasper Bjørke and His Friendly Ghost” – Kaspers own solo alter ego for the more minimal techno/house releases and remixes. “Go Away Song” features Danish singer Josephine Philip and appears as quite a dark and emotional piece of housemusic – but with the weird loops and beautiful lead vocals by Josephine, as well as the percussive parts and bass synth elements, there is surely crowd controlling potential for the late night sets as well.
Wareika has done an effective remix with their trademark of quirky guitars and synths and Danish new talent Holtoug takes the track in a whole different direction with some highly musical inputs.

Eddy Meets Yannah Remixes

Eddy meets Yannah

Eddy Meets Yannah’s third album on Compost „Fiction Jar“ was released in March 2010. The Croatian duo got lot of respect, heavy duty feedback, top reactions and full support by Gilles Peterson, Floating Points, Kevin Beadle, Patrick Forge, Lovemonk crew, Martyn, Kyoto Jazz Massive, as well as by some hot upcoming poshstep and dubstep dudes. Now it’s time for a top remix package, with contributions by Rainer Trueby, Ezel, YOSA, Bopstar and Zed Bias, who also made some beats and the mixdowns for the album.

We don’t need to introduce Rainer Trueby, except maybe worth to mention that his remixes are also co-production with Danilo from Motor City Drum Ensemble. Guess you hear that.

Ezel is a young producer from the Dominican Republic, already created a voice for himself under the guidance of spiritual driven dance music. Ezel worked closely with the likes of Osunlade and Daz-I-Kue and with some really hot remixes under his belt.

Bopstar is also an underground good name, Elusive DJ, Restless Soul production member, former Soul Heaven artist, and undercover souljazz afficionado. Making waves across continents lately spotted everywhere from Soweto to the Southport Weekender, restless in every way, recently quoted as saying : Bopstar was just the
caterpillar, the butterfly is coming next.

You may know Japanese young promising talent YOSA from his recent Drumpoet Community release, well he has previously done nice 12inches for Resopal, Dirt Crew, Supplemental and Suara.

Last but not least the digital download bundle of this remix package contains 5 bonus tunes, dubs, vocal versions plus a previously unreleased Zed Bias remix. (source: Compost Records)
