Zpyz – Racecar (Remixes)

Posted in Cut The Noize on January 25th, 2011 by alt

Since release of their genre bounding debut album „2080“ Berlin ´s freshest band ZPYZ (which is pronounced as Spice being reminiscent of the legendary UK pop act Spice Girls) is on the lips of any indie pop lover. For the second single release ,Racecar‘, which were prominently used while F1 champion Vettel squeezed in a few laps around Brandenburg Gate, the band has been snapped up by two of this years biggest shooting star producers of the bass heavy electro club scene. As you´d expect, Dirty Disco Youth and Dumme Jungs both dropping high energized re-rubs turning ,Racecar‘ into ear busting dancefloor dynamite.

Go and check them!

ZPYZ do love great pop music and have now produced one of the most versatile pop albums of recent times. Each song is different, but they are held together by one common characteristic: they are addictive!
Is it Brian Ferry revelling on top of a synth-melody that could be by Digitalism or Chromeo? Are those the Beastie Boys performing a track that sounds like Bloc Party? Is this KISS with a modern interpretation of „I was made for loving you“? And why did the Neptunes put their latest track on this album? These are the kind of thoughts and speculations that come to mind when putting on ZPYZ’s ecstatically pop-celebrating debut record.
Especially in terms of great melodies and hook lines ZPYZ are one of a kind. With razor-sharp choruses ZPYZ go from a modern version of Hairy Metal to pumping Synth-Pop without ever loosing the energy that great pop music is all about. They are not even afraid of cocky Space Rock and glitzy Glam-Pop. It is evident that their music is meant for being played out – it’s like a firework waiting to be lit. ZPYZ are no studio bunnies, they are real entertainers – something they have in common with the great pop bands of the 1980s. ZPYZ are subcultures response to pop music today. ZPYZ are soooo 2080.

Azzido Da Bass – Music For Bagpipes (OMGITM)

Posted in Uncategorized on June 9th, 2010 by alt

OMG folks, we are very excited to share with you the latest of Mr Dooms Night.

Last time we have heard from Azzido Da Bass he was collaborating with Malente to provide the floor devastating „They are Killin´It“ EP on Dim Mak and together with Dirty Disco Youth taking Robyn´s „Dancing On My Own“ to the rave floors.
With „Music For Bagpipes“ Azzido makes his debut release on Hamburg based, fresh imprint Oh My God It´s Techno Music which originally started as a famous shirt brand and now turned into a hip life style label. Again Azzido demonstrates he is in top form and continues to do what he does best… delivering raw, energetic, bass heavy rave banger. As the title suggests the track took inspiration from the Scottish national instrument which was twisted here to great effect. On the remix tip 19 year old youngstar Phil Speiser aka Dirty Disco Youth , whose recent Off EP on Dim Mak received much love from the blogosphere and all the leading players, takes the original to another level. On the flip side we see Azzido injecting a heavy dose of acid sounds to the original. Early play support comes already from Exploited boss Shir Khan, The Bloody Beetroots, Craft Music act Markus Lange and KoweSix of Moonbootica. A great refreshing release which makes us keen to hear what´s coming up next by Azzido and OMGITM alike.

Sono – What You Do

Posted in Cut The Noize on April 27th, 2010 by alt

It is a while, almost 10 years, an earthquake named „Keep Control“ shooked the clubs on this earth and raised the Hamburg based trio „Sono“ into music heaven.

Since then they played on many stages, clubs and festivals, always proved that one of its greatest talents, beyond producing first class tracks, is their diversity.

It is probably fair to say that there is no second act in the electronic field, which plays on the Loveparade at one side and on Gothicfestivals on the other, an act which strips down the clubs but creates a real concert atmosphere on the big stages.

These three guys fom Sono are thoroughbred musicians you can hear on their productions and for sure on stage.

PLUS“ is the  newest and fourth album from Martin, Lennart and Florian and the positive attitude runs like a thread through their work. And once again they demonstrate an album full of freshness and positive energy which will definately catch you up.

So to their next single „What You Do“, giving us a piece of their work full of enthusiasm and their understanding of electronic music, providing even more sensitivity.
„What You Do“ is energized by a remix from DIRTY DISCO YOUTH, one of this year’s upcoming artists who gained big respect with his latest release on DIM MAK records in the last weeks. This guy behind „Chicks On Speed’s“ forthcoming album comes up with an explosive and fresh clubsmasher keeping the soul of the original by any time. Be sure not to miss his next remixes for Alex Gopher and Sharam Jey.

More energy comes from Hamburg legends SAINT PAULI who produced a phosphorescent remix from the deep of their heart and bringing us an high quality electronic disco tune.

Dirty Disco Youth – Minds Off… EP (Dim Mak)

Posted in Uncategorized on February 16th, 2010 by alt

2010 looks set to be the break through year of youngster Vienna born Phil Speiser (which for us was only a matter of time). His project Dirty Disco Youth already caused quite a stir with early productions and several remixes which found their way through the web and got very quickly talk of the blogosphere.
Being hyped as the new “Wunderkind” gigs at the big electro events and interviews at radio and tv stations followed, as well as positive articles and features in several magazines. A Mexican mag even awarded him the “best new talent 2007″.
Soon he became a heavily requested remixer for indie labels like Great Stuff, King Kong Rec., Dim Mak, Coco Machete as well as major labels and with only 19 years he did already more official remixes than most other remixer in their entire life. Dirty Disco Youth tracks are being supported by big names as The Bloody Beetroots, Benni Benassi, Joachim Garraud, Boys Noize, Herve, Fake Blood, Ed Banger Djs, Mustard Pimp, Gigi Barocco, Sharam Jey, Tommie Sunshine, Fukkk Offf, Streetlife Djs, Kap10Kurt, Malente, Annie Mac and many more. Dim Mak boss and superstar deejay Steve Aoki was one of the first fans of Dirty Disco Youth´s production talent and now signed his Off EP to his super hip label, which is probably the biggest electro indie label right now with famous acts like MSTRKRFT, Bloody Beetroots, Bloc Party, The Gossip and many more. The EP features a massive set of mad mixes by Fukkk Offf and the much loved StereoHeroes from France plus a cool breaks version by label mate Mustard Pimp. Currently in the studio producing the upcoming Chicks On Speed album, a second EP for Dim Mak and his own longplayer being planned for end of the year, we will hear a lot more from Phils alter ego for sure.
