Appearing first on Claude Von Stroke’s respected Dirtybird label earlier this year, ‘Jack’ by UK DJ/producer Breach aka Ben Westbeech now sees a full release via Warner Musics dance label Bitclap!.
‘Jack’ has been building rapidly over the past few months, not least following this year’s Miami Winter Music Conference where it was one of the biggest tracks there, seeing heavy rotation across the week and, beyond that, major support from (deep breath) Disclosure, Skream, Jackmaster, Duke Dumont, Annie Mac, Maya Jane Coles, Heidi, Rob Da Bank, Roska, MistaJam, Artwork and Annie Nightingale to name just a few.
Skream’s gone so far as to call ‘Jack’ “my favourite tune of the year” and the track has already made it into the Top 5 of Resident Advisor’s monthly DJ charts, and it’s not hard to see why. Simple but maddeningly infectious, a sultry pitched up male vocal struts across an assertive groove and crisp percussion, with one thing on its mind: Let’s jack. This was built for the dancefloor.
Now based in Amsterdam, Westbeech has had a busy time of it lately, launching his own label Naked Naked – putting out releases from the likes of Midland, Dark Sky, Dusky and more, including himself of course – and releasing more of his own material through Ramp/PTN, Pets Recordings and Dirtybird to universal acclaim within the dance music world. With further remix work for a diverse range of artists including Maya Jane Coles, Jamie Jones, Rachel Rowe and Andreya Triana due this summer it’s no surprise that the producer’s diary is rapidly filling up as his energetic brand of bass led house music reaches further with every release.
‘Jack’ is backed with remixes from Drum and Bass legend Calibre, rising UK bass duo Mak & Pasteman.
