Housse de Racket, which translates in English to ‘tennis racket cover,’ are Victor Le Masne and Pierre Leroux. Late last year the two released a masterful video for the single “Chateau” off their sophomore album Alesia. The video tells the story of a sci-fi romance, opening with the male lead looking at his gargoyle reflection in the mirror. The entire video is sombre, full of compelling yet detached moments that are a reflection of the lyrics, “We don’t talk but it’s fine, we go for a walk in the park, this place is falling apart.” The poignancy of the video works well with the emotional feel of the track and moves you to watch it at least a few more times.
Producers inspired by the song and its video have jumped to create their own interpretation of the track and so far we’ve seen remixes from Punks Jump Up and Mickey. This latest remix that we’re proud to premiere is by the London-based duo of Jerry Bouthier and Andrea Gorgerino, otherwise known as JBAG.
