ASAF AVIDAN – DIFFERENT PULSES

Asaf Avidan - Different Pulses EP

Asaf Avidan is best known as the founder and frontman of his folk rock band Asaf Avidan & The Mojos. The signature main brand is and remains his exceptional voice: In recent years, he was repeatedly  compared with the greatest musicians such as Janis Joplin, Robert Plant and Jeff Buckley. The Mexican Rolling Stone even spoke of “new Messiah” while other media referred to him as “husky angel”, “force of nature” and “the illegitimate child of Dylan and Joplin.” By now Asaf is known far beyond the Israeli borders thanks to the Wankelmut remix of his “Reckoning Song” which was one of the ground-breaking tech house hits in 2012. Asaf climbed in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and several other European countries at # 1 on the singles chart.

After touring constantly with his band between 2009 and 2011, in July 2011 Asaf Avidan & The Mojos announced a creative break and let the duration of this interval to be open at first. Avidan had played solo gigs all the time in parallel with the band events or teamed ip with other musicians as a duo – both in very classical concert halls, as well as at the TED conference as support of Bob Dylan, not to mention his Tribute gig for The Who at Carnegie Hall. It is not surprising that in November 2012 he has finally released his first solo album: Asaf Avidan – “Different Pulses” along with the producer Tamir Muskat (Balkan Beat Box) on Universal / Polydor. The first single from the album is the eponymous “Different Pulses”.

Different Pulses” is a magnificent laid back, loungy track with ethnic elements and electronic feel of course. His performance is deep, moving, heartfelt and so unique that is very hard to pass unnoticed. The release is backed by 3 wonderful remixes that take the song further to the deep tech house territory and will mesmerise the underground techno floors worldwide. France based Joris Delacroix (Stil Vor Talent / WOH Lab) delivers a really melodic, spacey, tripped out version that makes you feel like flying while you dance to it upon its invisible wings. JBNV remix is even more slowed down and deeper with tribal beats, melodramatic strings, cinematic atmosphere and trancy edge too. The Leon remix is moving on to the same deep tech house territory complete with violins, strings, percussion to die for and warm, tender and sincere atmosphere to get lost inside its magical soundscape. You will Love it!
