Frankie Flowerz - Girlz & Boyz (Cover Artwork)

There is a saying certain things are getting better with age. Regarding Berlins dj/producer veteran Frankie Flowerz, who we at cutTheNoize are long time followers and big fans of, the wait for this release was worth every single year.

I never wanted a homogenic album. That kinda stuff bores me musically. I came from many musical genres, I almost never listen to electronic music at home and I love to keep it suspenseful when I play my gigs.” so Malaysian born Mohan, as he is known to many.

“Girlz & Boyz” is Frankie’s debut LP, at 45!, after releasing countless 12”s on various Labels (Crosstown Rebels, Hyper Color, Turbo Rec., Funkhaus Music) under various monikers (Audio Royal, Hybrid Funk).

For those who are not yet familar to his work – expect nothing less than a stunnning eclectic mix of soul, funk, techno, jazz and deep house music!! By the way you are invited to enjoy the entire LP in the mix on his soundcloud here:

The plans of recording his own LP materialised years ago when he re-started the Funkhaus imprint. “I begun recording again and within a span of 4 years, I managed to get some musicians together, brought them to the studio and just recorded. I just recorded anything which sounded good. And I wanted honest music.

…Most of the songs here were written 10 years ago. All I did was to dig em out again and refresh them. It’s the oldskool, newskool and whatever you choose to label it. I call it “Girlz & Boyz”. I call it ….music.. I cant think of a genre to archive this under
